During the German occupation, Michel Molitor was forcibly conscripted into the German Wehrmacht. First, he spent three months in the RAD before serving 14 months on the Eastern Front.

After World War II, Michel worked as an electrician when he was called up for mandatory military service on 31 March 1945. Being liberated for the first time in February 1946, he was recalled in February 1952. Back then, he volunteered for the second contingent.

A few years after his return from Korea, Michel adopted the abandoned child of his fellow serviceman and NCO in Korea, Roger Feiereisen. As a longtime member of the Association des Anciens Combattants, Michel bore their standard on official occasions.
